If you still have lira notes that were valid currency at the time of the
euro changeover, you can take them to Italy's central national bank,
Banca d'Italia, and turn them in for euros. That means going to a main
city, probably Rome but I wouldn't rule out Milan or other larger
cities, to do so. The rate is something like 1932 lira to one euro.


Thank you, but that would mean a trip to Italy ...but that's not such a bad
idea, is it!!
