Thumbs up power tools

dont know if any of you guys out there can shed some light.
going to usa and want to buy some makita cordless power tools when there. wiil i be able to charge them with a site trasformer which reduces uk current from 240 volts to 110. or is there a diffrent issue.

any help would be great. thanks
