Default Canadian immigration site swamped after US election

The website with info on Canadian immigration reported a 900 % increase in hits
after the US election as dissatisfied Kerry voters consider a move north.

A Canadian official reportedly said "If large numbers of Kerry voters move to
Canada we would consider this a win-win situation, since the average IQ would
increase on BOTH sides of the border."

Operative word is "reportedly". And who was this Canadian "official"? Sgt.
Preston (of the Mounties), perhaps?? In this country everyone has freedom of speech
when speaking on an individual basis. However, when acting as an agent for the
Canadian government (for instance as a civil servant) the individual is a "creature
of statute" and is limited in actions and words by Canadian statutes. I would think
the same is true of US government officials. Even for MPs there are rules - one set
within the confines of the House of Commons and another set outside "on the
street".

I know of absolutely NO official initiatives to assist Kerry-voters (or loyalists)
any more than ANY other group of would-be immigrants. Being a US citizen/resident
does not put that person up to the front of the line automatically when it comes to
immigration into Canada.

As for IQ, I don't know of ANY IQ test that Canada uses for qualification for
entry/immigration into Canada.

Just some observations...
