Default Train times from Vilnius

The Deutsche Bahn site is giving travel times from Vilnius (Lithuania)
that seem impossible: 5 hours to Riga, 6 hours to Kaliningrad, 12 hours
to Gdansk, 38 hours to Tallinn!

Are these times really correct? The Lithuanian site at
http://www.litrail.lt/ is useless; it's literally a blank page.

None of these trips are direct. For instance, the only trains
service to Tallinn is via St Petersburg.

The trip to Gdansk seems reasonably direct, with a change in
Kaliningrad.

Seems fair to me. In 1989, Riga was 5.5 hours, Kalingrad was 5.

Since then the raliways in the Baltics closed completely because
they were unmaintained, so at least you can now use them again.

In 12 hours?I don't think so.
It's rather possible using bus (Vilnius 22.00 - Warsaw 5.45) which runs
instead Balti train and next fast train (Warsaw 5.50 - Gdansk 10.00).

How do people get around in the Baltics, then? By bus?

That's how it's done. As someone that will go to extraordinary lengths
to avoid buses, I couldn't manage to do it in the Baltics.

If you're unlucky, you might catch one passing from Kaliningrad to the
Russian mainland. These are particularly nasty!

------------------
It's quite clear from bahn.hafas timetable.
Vilnius(LT) 09.07.05 dep 10:36 D 149CH Schnellzug
2nd class only seated accommodation, Sleeping-car, BordRestaurant
Kaliningrad 09.07.05 arr 18:07
Kaliningrad 09.07.05 dep 18:48 D 8CH Schnellzug
Partially 2nd class only, Part of journey with couchette coach
Gdansk Glowny 09.07.05 arr 21:58
Duration: 12:22; runs not every day, Days of operation
But you'll probably need a transit visa for the russian Kaliningrad
enclave.

Is the St. Pete - Tallinn direct service back?
