Default Carnival companies auto-tipping Question

We tip in the traditional manner and have never had any problem or the
slightest hesitation when we ask the Purser to remove the auto-tips and
provide us with envelopes.

I know Carnival will remove them. I have done that on 2 cruises.

They will remove them, but they sure put up a struggle. Even if you tell

them
you just want to do it yourself. My love affair with Carnival was really
tested on my last cruise. I will go back, but after a few cruises with

someone
else.

Default Where's the Grazie?

Having been on over 50 Costa Cruises, we just had our first auto-tip
cruise on Costa and I must say that the service level and attitude does
suffer, even though this is easier for the passenger.

The largley Filippino crew is an improvement, but, I do feel that
pesonalized tipping gives a motivation
that is missing with the new system.

Since the staff now knows how much everyone has been charged for tips,
it wouldn't hurt to say: Garzie, gracias, Danke, Tak, Brigard, Merci,
Obligado, or just plain thanks.

Cabin stewards also say they see slightly more money, but not as much as
the dining room help. I guess it was harder to stiff a cabin steward.

This is always the first thing on my list. About the middle of the
cruise I go to the pursers desk and have the tips they have added
removed from my account. Some of them will try to talk you out of it. I
have no problem telling them this will be done and there will be no
compromise. If you are very firm they will back off in a hurry.

I dont have a problem with tiping for good service. We usually budget
around $200. for tips on a 7 day cruise. I just do not like the cruise
lines deciding who gets what.

Default Carnival companies auto-tipping Question

Kevin,

Please do not feed the troll. Clint is a very lonely person who posts notes
which reek of anti-Semitism, refers to blacks as "coloureds", his wife as
"the cow", suggests that people not tip because he doesn't, all attempting
to get folks to answer him.

Up to the time I added him to my "blocked sender" list I don't recall that
he ever wrote a note which contained any information, which is what he has
done here. All you have done is encourage him.
