I googled "cannabilism" but didn't see any source.

I did see something about "cannabis cures cancer", though.

Do cannas grow in Kenya?

If you google for that you will see some pretty pictures, and it tells you
that

Canna is a genus of nineteen species of flowering plants. The closest living
relations to cannas are the other plant families of the order Zingiberales,
that is the Zingiberaceae, Musaceae, Marantaceae, Heliconiaceae,
Strelitziaceae, etc. Wikipedia

And then, in the rec.travel.europe department, you can learn that

Boasting stunning scenery, a temperate climate and a sheltered harbour, Canna
is the most westerly of the Small Isles of the Inner Hebrides, and also one of
the most hospitable.

Along with its smaller neighbour Sanday, Canna has been a site of continuous
settlement for 9,000 years, with a small population of inhabitants remaining
to this day. The two islands are now linked by a footbridge.

Known as ‘the garden of the Hebrides’, Canna has fertile soils, green meadows
and abundant wildlife. It has been recognised as a bird sanctuary since 1938,
and supports over 20,000 breeding seabirds, including puffins, razorbills and
guillemots.

Canna House also contains an extensive and unrivalled Gaelic library, curated
by previous owners, Dr John Lorne Campbell and his wife Margaret Fay Shaw.

Of course, since this was also posted in alt.horror, you might have been
looking for the negative, which would seem to fit better:

uncanny
adjective

= weird, strange, mysterious, queer, unearthly, eerie, supernatural,
unnatural, spooky (informal), creepy (informal), eldritch (poetic),
preternatural • "I had this uncanny feeling that Alice was warning me."
= extraordinary, remarkable, incredible, unusual, fantastic, astonishing,
exceptional, astounding, singular, miraculous, unheard-of, prodigious • "The
hero bears an uncanny resemblance to Kirk Douglas."

And soc.retirement?

Well, I'm retired, and I think I'll retire from this discussion.
