Default DoD announces two cruise ships

The Department of Defense announced today that it has ordered two
75,000 GRT cruise ships to be used by special services for military
rest and relaxation. Active duty, Reserves and retired personnel will
be eligable for the cruises.

The two ships are to be built in Mobile and will be US flagged
vessels. The Shock will sail from Jacksonville, Florida, while the
Awe will sail from San Diego, California. Exact itineraries were not
announced. Delivery of the Shock is scheduled for January of 2008
while the Awe will come into service in April of 2008.
