A funny thing happened to me........
There was this baseball player Yogi Berra ( see
http://www.yogi-berra.com/yogiisms.html and http://www.yogi-berra.com/about.html). He looked and talked lkie a clown somewhat but he was perhaps the greatest of all time at his position. Supposedly once in the 1950s someone told Yogi that the Jewish Robert Briscoe had been elected Lord Mayor of Dublin, Ireland. Yogi replied, "Only in America" A couple of years ago I was in a food court in a mall in Australia. There was a Mexican restaurant with a Turkish counterman. I said to him something like "This is a Mexican restaurant in Australia with a Turkish counterman? Only in America" |

When I left Glen Waverley, the Mexican restaurant was run by a Chinese guy named Tony, one of the Chinese restaurants was run by an Italian, one of the Pizza shops was run by a Chinese and another by a Vietnamese and the kebab and souvlaki restaurants were run by almost anyone..... Our chefs call it "fusion" cuisine :-) I call it a wonderful variety. Cheers, Alan -- |
