travel companions for budget travel to tokyo
hello there,
i'm 28 years old, female and living in singapore. am planning for a one week trip to tokyo sometime this october. from what i've gathered, the weather wouldn't be too hot or cold then. looking for like-minded TCs with a little or alot of knowledge in reading/speaking japanese because silly me knows absolutely nothing. but for a start, i'm learning the basics and any helpful common phrases so that i could be of some use at least :P i'm also going on a budget here so shopping is not on my to do list though window shopping won't hurt. have googled the internet for cheap places to stay and there seem to be quite a number of choices out there, so i hope no problems there. as for an itinerary, i'm hoping to get some feedback from those who have been there on a budget as well. i mainly wish to experience the country for its culture and food and for a change of air. so looking forward to some replies then |

"looking for like-minded TCs with a little or alot of knowledge in

Just learn the Japanese phrases for please, thank you, hello, how much, left, right, and stop, and the Japanese characters for the numbers 1-10 (so you can read prices). "as for an itinerary, i'm hoping to get some feedback from those who have been there on a budget as well." Take day trips to Kamakura and Odaiba. Don't miss the Senso-ji temple in Asakusa and the Meiji-Jingu shrine in Harajuku. Visit East Shinjuku at night, Shibuya in the afternoon, and Yoyogi Park on a weekend. The Edo Tokyo Museum tells the history of Tokyo, and is well worth seeing. |

i think october might not be a perfect time.. was there last october,
drizzling in tokyo all the while. nove, ber cuold be a better time, nice autumn color too. english in japan is terrible, few could speak.. work better by identifying the chinese characters embedded among the japanese words. ------------------ a photographic journey through asia - www.geocities.com/boochap "szk" wrote in message oups.com... hello there, i'm 28 years old, female and living in singapore. am planning for a one week trip to tokyo sometime this october. from what i've gathered, the weather wouldn't be too hot or cold then. looking for like-minded TCs with a little or alot of knowledge in reading/speaking japanese because silly me knows absolutely nothing. but for a start, i'm learning the basics and any helpful common phrases so that i could be of some use at least :P i'm also going on a budget here so shopping is not on my to do list though window shopping won't hurt. have googled the internet for cheap places to stay and there seem to be quite a number of choices out there, so i hope no problems there. as for an itinerary, i'm hoping to get some feedback from those who have been there on a budget as well. i mainly wish to experience the country for its culture and food and for a change of air. so looking forward to some replies then |
