a bit off topic...aussie bank machines
Hey All,
I'm just wondering how accessible bank machines are in Australia? If it's anything like Canada, every cornerstore, bar and restaurant has it's own bank machine (where you have to pay an extra fee on top of the regular bank fee). Or of course, you can always just pay with your debit card right at the cashier. THanks Matt |

I suppose that means ATM access is on the RHS of the vehicle, eh?

In fact our main ring road here is totally made of pavement. Most of the Interstate highways in the USA are also made of pavement. What do you suggest we drive on? Ken Canada |

You're right, ATM machines are everywhere here in Australia, bars, servo's, pubs, clubs, street corners, you name it, just as in Canada and USA. In fact you'll find Australia more like the USA and Canada than the USA and Canada. The only major difference here is we drive on the left side of the road. Kerry Yeah we have an idiot as a leader too.So you will feel right at home. |

Ken Canada Assuming this is a serious question, "pavement" in Australia means almost exclusively paved sidewalks. (And "sidewalks" are in fact footpaths, and pavement is tarmac, and gasoline is petrol). But at least we don't speak bloody frog here. |

As Peter explained, I was 'speaking' civilized English! :-) Perhaps you guys should close your border and go back to the mother tongue? Apparently the influence from your 'neighbours' is all but positive! :-) |

"Ken Pisichko" wrote in message ... I suppose that means ATM access is on the RHS of the vehicle, eh? Ken Sorry mate, you picked on one thing that we don't have here in Oz and that's drive-in ATM machines. There's drive in Maccas and Burger King but I can't remember ever seeing a bank with a drive-in teller machine. So I hate to say this, but you'll have to park and get out of your car to get cash. Cheers Kerry |
