Default SF Bldg hooded figures

We were recently in SF and were very pleased with the whole experience!
Something we saw, thought we would be heading back to for more info, then
couldn't, perhaps someone can help--

Somewhere Downtown, there is a newer high rise building that has, I believe,
three hooded figures, life size or bigger, on a ledge facing south. Does
anyone know which building this is, and what the statues represent?

.....continues monologue: found the building to be 580 California Street, and
a couple of links, including this one from the architect
http://www.pjar.com/pdf/580_California_St.pdf but not much explanation of
what the figures represent.
