Default Oyster Card loaded with a valid Travel Card?

The website: http://www.thamesriverservices.co.uk/prices.cfm states:

If you have a valid Travel Card / Oyster Card
loaded with a valid Travel Card on your day of travel
you will receive a 1/3 off discount on our published standard
adult and child fares, when booking at the Ticket Office.

I actually want to purchase a 3-day Travel Card and an Oyster Card.
We are in London twice -- once for 4 nights and, later, for 2 nights.
I want to use the 3-day Travel Card (GBP 17.40) during the 4 nights
and the Oyster Card during all other times. But maybe there is
something I can do to get even a better deal?

Thanks in advance.
