Default Trip from Calgary to Vancouver

Hello!

We, my wife, my 15 year old son and I, will come mid of August to Calgary.
Here we start a 16 day trip with a RV. Our journey ends after 16 days in
Vancouver. After these 16 days we have some more days in Vancouver. We are
interested to see mainly nature including Vancouver Island (Pacific Rim
National Park). We are also interested to spend 1 day in Victoria. We want
to see also parts of the Alberta prairie.
Do anybody have any advice or proposal about things to do and things what we
should miss to visit. We prefer in general areas with not to much tourists.
We further interested in any advice regarding camp grounds or rv - parks

Many thanks in advance and best wishes from Austria

Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang;

Driving from Calgary to Vancouver in August it's going to be hard to avoid
tourists, but 16 days will give you lot's of time to take it slow. If you
have that much time and want to see some prairie, I would suggest that you
first travel south of Calgary, to Fort Macleod, Pincher Creek, Head Smashed
in Buffalo Jump (way cool ) and the Crowsnest pass. You can then travel
north on some secondary highways to reach Kananaskis country, Banff, Lake
Louise, Moraine Lake, Takkakaw Falls, and Moraine Lake. You can hit Jasper
if you like before coming back south and passing through into B.C..

My B.C travel knowledge isn't quite up to the level of Alberta, so I'll let
others cover that.

Gute Fahren!
