V. Cheap Accomodation in Tenerife

Alternatively, cheap self catering apartments would
be great. I'm talking 15-20 pounds a night or less.

Is it wise to go
without a place to stay, or would it be wiser to find somewhere
initially.

Whether you decide to book in advance or just turn up, it's certainly worth
doing some research (as you are doing). You can get self-catering apartments
for less than £20 a night on Tenerife in September/October - try this site
www.tenerife-accommodations.com it has some of the best rates on the net.
I've used them with no problem. There are obviously other sites, but I've
yet to find better rates than on this one.
