Trevl - NY Upper East Side to Newark Airport??
Hi everyone,
This coming weekend I'll be overnighting in NY and on Sunday need to travel from around East 69th St, NY, to Newark Airport. Could someone advise the easiest and most cost effective? EG. Cab to Penn Station then tranin to Newark, or Subway to Penn, the Train to Newark, or Cab all the way? I have a medium suitcase and carry on. Thanks again. GregWA Perth, West Oz. |

Trevl - NY Upper East Side to Newark Airport??
Hi,
The cheapest way would probably be to use http://www.supershuttle.com/ They will pick you up at your location, and take you to the airport. The disadvantage is that they might have to pick up other people on the way, making the trip longer. Gadi "GregWA" wrote in message ... Of course the most cost effective will be not using any cabs. If you can manage your luggage use the subway and train. I'd avoid services like Super Shuttle at all costs. They are slow and crowded. |

NYC bus or subway to Penn Station - 33rd & 5th PATH subway to Journal Square - 22 mins Switch trains for Newark Station - 11 mins Newark Station has Airlink bus to the airport. |

He stopped for gas and only got a few gallons. He stopped for doughnuts and coffee. Then of course there's the usual delays as he drives around Manhattan to the various hotels where people are to be dropped off. On the return to JFK we took the subway. Much faster, much cheaper, much more room. |

Then of course there's the usual delays as he drives around Manhattan to the various hotels where people are to be dropped off. On the return to JFK we took the subway. Much faster, much cheaper, much more room. I used Super Shuttle twice from upper Manhattan to LaGuardia. Other than two or three stops to pick up other passengers, they always went straight to the airport. I never used them on the way in, because both times I had arrived at a different airport, or city. There is also a city bus which serves LaGuardia which is very cheap and quick to and from upper Manhattan. I think it was less than half an hour from the A train stop at 125th St. To and from Kennedy, I use either the subway or the shuttle bus that stops at Grand Central. The bus is quicker and less hassle, but is also more expensive. For two or three people, a cab from JFK to Manhattan is not a bad deal, because there is a flat price. (I think the same is true from LaGuardia, but I'm not sure.) On the return trip, however, the price is metered. -- Barbara Vaughan My email address is my first initial followed by my last name at libero dot it. |
