Cheapest flight from anywhere in North or South America to Australia?
I'm planning being in Australia from late July until late August. I can
leave anywhere in South or North America and can arrive at any city in Australia. What are the cheapest places airports to shoot for? |

Cairns has flights to the USA via Micronesia (Continental).
Air NZ has specials often - via Auckland. Hawaian Air via Honolulu. Malaysian is sometimes also very cheap (via Kuala Lumpur and Narita). "Alan S" wrote in message ... What are the cheapest places airports to shoot for? The airport should make little difference. The major internationals are Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, in that order, then Cairns and the Gold Coast. The last three don't have any direct flights to the Americas, but you may find packages via New Zealand, Fiji, Japan or similar. Keep an eye on discounts and specials for that time on the main web-sites - Qantas, LANChile, United, Air Pacific etc. For example, Qantas has some current specials, but they would all expire before next July http://www.qantas.com.au/regions/dyn...ultiCity/index Also try some test itineraries on Kayak or Octopus or Expedia or similar. Where, exactly, do you want to visit here? July/August can be a bit cool down south. Cheers, Alan, Australia http://loraltravel.blogspot.com/ latest: Alhambra |

: American Airlines, Delta, Continental etc all code-share with either Qantas, Air NZ or United. So don't be surprised when you do searches to see these come up. Just curious Which routes do Qantas, Air New Zealand or United code-share with Delta or Continental? R. |

What are the cheapest places airports to shoot for? Don't bother with South America. The fares from and to S America are generally much higher than from the USA or Canada. Gerrit - Oz |

Cheapest flight from anywhere in North or South America to Australia?
Thanks everyone. Lots of great advice here. I'm supposed to be going
down for a study abroad class, and I need to arrange my own transport. I've never flown internationally, much less to the other side of the world. I'll keep an eye out on the prices. Joe |
