Reliable Campervans??

Hi All,
I'm travelling from Melb to Syd return, Melb to Tas return, Melb to Adel
return and Melb to Bris return over the next 12 months in a Campervan I'm
looking at buying.

Does anyone know if the VW Kombi Campervans are a reliable and a good
option (don't want an expensive lemon) or should I look at a different
type of Campervan make/model altogether??

Only want to spend around $6000 or under. Was thinking of keeping the
campervan for a several years to take advantage of Victoria's public
holidays, annual leave and commute to work Monday - Friday etc.
