Dubrovnik accommodation
Hope someone can help here. I am travelling to Dubrovnik this Sat (20th) for
2 weeks holiday. As of yet I have no accommodation booked (though it's still an option). I have heard that on arrival at the airport and /or the bus station there are local people waiting there to offer private accommodation. Does this still happen at this time of year and if so what is a typical price offered for this type of accommodation. Thank you for your help Eugene Dublin , Ireland. |

Don't know about Dubrovnik, but round Krk this year in June there was
masses of private accomodation on offer. Tom eugemcl schrieb: Hope someone can help here. I am travelling to Dubrovnik this Sat (20th) for 2 weeks holiday. I drove down the coast, first week in September two years ago. The date is significant because it's was still a school holiday week in Bayern (from which many of the visitors to HR will come), yet even so, most small hotels that I stayed in were less than half full. IIRC I paid 60-80 DM per night. Didn't try out any of the 'privat accomodation'. Everyone is now back to school in Germany so I expect that HR will be virtually empty. Dubrovnik accommodation
Cheers guys for the advice. It seems like a good time to go. Our Indian
summer just ended today.....rain ! so this trip will extend my summer by a couple of weeks. I think I'll just go without prebooked accommodation, I'll just follow mt nose. Thanks again. Dubrovnik accommodation
We were there the last half of Sept 2001 and arrived with no
prebooking. Our first choice (based on LP) was full (we needed 3 nights, they only had one), but we just scouted out some other places and got a room for several nights, no problem. We stayed at Lapad, a short walk from the bus station, with a view of the suspension bridge (now complete, then under construction)...lots of hotels had space.....we paid about $60US for a double... be sure to walk the entire wall (takes 1-2 hours). there's a cybercafe just outside the entrance to the old town where you can drop a note home ..rate was pretty cheap as I recall...we only stayed 10-15 mins, just enough to let folks know we were ok (this was just a week after 9/11) and where we were, as we were traveling without a set itinerary...
