Travel around New Zeland and Australia
hi:
I would like to make a trip around New Zeland and Australia. I am from Spain. I am looking for flight companies go to Auckland from Spain, but I want to make an stop-over in Australia. I want to stay in Sidney and Camberra for 3 or 4 days (using the same ticket to go to New Zeland). Is it possible? I have heard it is possible with an malasian airlain company. When I arrive to Auckland I want to rent a campervan (spirit 2 or something similar) for two people. What is your recommendation??? How much is the pass from north island to south island? in which companies? (if there are more than one) Thanks on advance Matías |

Try Thai Airlaines, they fly BKK=SYD=AKL or Qantas. Canbera will have to be
a side trip, but Qantas may have a special deal. You should think carefully about Campervan vers Motels and car. If in winter, motels are warmer and more comfortable. NZ motels are usually very clean and have a full kitchen, although some may have only a microwave and no oven. NZ roads are narrow and winding. There can be lots of hills, and campervans are often low powered and slow. hi: I would like to make a trip around New Zeland and Australia. I am from Spain. On the other hand, I was amazed that there are campgrounds at every bend in
the road in the rural parts of south island. They looked attractive for a small camper van and certainly priced attractively (NZ$5 a night). I didn't notice as many along the roads in north island, though I'm sure there's no shortage of camping opportunities in the north. Having spent my share of time behind the vehicles I can attest that they're obviously underpowered and a slow way to get around hilly countryside. All the one-lane bridges in south island would give me pause in such a vehicle as well. For the cost of renting and fueling a camper van, it probably would be cheaper and more comfortable to hire a car and use hotels. For camping, I think I'd rather go with a tent. I don't know if the rules are the same for campers as for rental cars, but for cars you must turn your car in Wellington and pick up another in Picton (or vice versa). There's no extra expense to doing this, but you can't take the rental car on the car-ferry. The trip between the two islands is a very pleasant couple of hours - not terribly expensive as I remember. I think there's just one ferry company - but I'm not really sure about that. Oh, I think most of the Qantas flights allow a stop-over. An outbound stopover seems more common there than in North America. Surely if you booked a ticket London-Auckland you could stop in Sydney on the same ticket. ----== Posted via Newsfeed.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeed.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= 19 East/West-Coast Specialized Servers - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |
