If one isn't partial to locally smoked wild salmon, Loch Fyne oysters, wild venison, Aberdeen Angus beef, undyed smoked haddock or haggis (which I must admit is a case of mind over matter the first time!), then it's possible one would be dissatisfied with the cuisine of Scotland. Perhaps the OP attempted to survive on deep fried Mars Bars? Jo --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Indeed. I'm not lucky enough to have such delicacies every time I'm in Scotland, but I typically enjoy what I have. It's just the general 'the food is inedible' comment that irritates me. If a tourist _really_ can't get decent food in the UK, then they seem a bit clueless to me. Then again, I've got very wide tastes- I make a point of enjoying the local food no matter where I go.
