Default newbie cruiser Royal Carib to Mexican Riveria

I'll be taking my first cruise. Wife and I are celebrating 20 years
marriage.
We will float Royal Caribbean to Mexican Riveria - Mazatlan, Puerto
Vallarta, Cabo.
Any advise or suggestions on
What to see
Where to eat
What to do for fun, crazy, crazy fun

What to avoid
What to watch out for
How to pack
How to behave on the ship
Liquor issues -- buy booze for the room before leaving? Wait until we dock
in Mexico? Buy drinks on the ship?

Any advise would be appreciated

Mazatlan - Spend the morning on horseback with Randi's Happy Horses
(http://randishappyhorses.com/) and end the ride with a great meal of
garlic shrimp at the "beach shack" Victors. Then, do a little shopping
in town before returning to the ship.

PV - Do a zip-line canopy tour with Canopy Tours Los Veranos
(www.canopytours-vallarta.com/) and end with a yummy meal and yummier
drinks right there, at the end of your last zip. Once back in town, do
a little shopping before returning to the ship.

Cabo - Find yourself a taxi-boat when you get off the ship that will
bring you on a water tour of the harbor area, around the arch, checking
out the seals, etc. Then, have them drop you at Lover's Beach for an
hour or two - set a time that you'd like to be picked up. Once back in
town, wander around, shop and dine in whatever place tickles your
fancy - lots of options.

What to avoid

Bad silver? Bring a little magnet with you - a quick check to see if
what you're buying is really sterling - they'll all tell you it is.

What to watch out for

Too much sun?

How to pack

I'm a heavy packer, so I'm probably not the best one to offer advice
here. For days, shorts, tees, polos, tanks are fine. I usually throw a
cotton or rayon sundress over my bathing suit - just easier. Evenings,
you'll need to have three different kinds of outfits. Formal,
semi-formal (or smart casual) and casual. Your brochure and/or cruise
documents will describe each of these.

How to behave on the ship

Politely? Considerately?

Liquor issues -- buy booze for the room before leaving? Wait until we dock
in Mexico? Buy drinks on the ship?

RCI's policy will be spelled out on either there website or in their
brochure. Usually, the cruiselines do not like booze being brought on
board when you first embark, but it's easy enough to smuggle on, in
your checked bags (I'd decant it into plastic bottles and then
double-ziplock bag it to prevent spillage and breakage). And, usually,
if you bring booze on board from ports, it will be "held for your
convenience" (confiscated) until the end of the cruise. I just buy my
drinks on board. It's just easier. So, I pay a little more. I've never
found ship drink prices to be out of line with what I'm used to paying
at home, so I'm not offended by it in the least.

Any advise would be appreciated

Just have a super time!!!

I've never been on a Royal Caribbean cruise, but I do know that when
you're on a cruise ship, it's safe to say that you can do about
anything you want. Common sense will tell you what you can and can't
do. That's the way things have been on the cruises that I've been on.

Ohmygosh, yes. That was an absolute blast. Forgot all about it. I don't
think I've laughed so hard since.
