Default carpool request for Thanksgiving: Florida (near I-95) to N/S Carolina

I'm not sure if this newsgroup welcomes carpool requests.

It looks like I'm stuck taking the dreaded Greyhound from Melbourne to
SC. It would be great if I could share a ride on the way up and take
the bus back. I'd like to get there the day before Thanksgiving
11/22. I'd pay for gas.

I could be dropped off in places near Florence, SC such as
Fayetteville, NC (on I95) or Manning, SC.

If anyone is making a long I95 trip from metro Miami thru the
Carolinas it would work. Just a shot in the dark here. I'm not a
driver. -Tim923

I found a site for requesting carpools. I'll probably get stuck
taking the Greyhound.

It ain't the 70s anymore.

I wouldn't pick up a hitchhiker (outside of Israel). Not at all worth the
risk. Especially for that long a trip.

Should you use the mailblocks package and expect a response from me,
you should preauthorize the dissensoftware.com domain.

I very rarely bother responding to challenge/response systems,
especially those from irresponsible companies.

This is when I hate being a nondriver.

This Greyhound trip from Melbourne, FL to Florence, SC is 16 hours
with 3 transfers for $110 each way. And several hours lost sleep. I
think it would only be about 8 hours driving for about 500 miles along
I95.

Both U.S.Air + Delta fly into Florence SC, and you may find flights
from Orlando for not much more, depending on your flexibility. You
could find your way to the Orlando airport and be there in a few.

If you can get to Orlando www.kayak.com gave several
one-stop possibilities from Orlando via Charlotte to
Fayetteville for around $277 return.

Having hitch-hiked more than twenty-five thousand miles, I always
pick up hitch-hikers. Unfortunately, there are very few these days.
