If they are not allowed to vote, they shouldn't have to pay taxes.

So, resident aliens and green-card holders should not have to pay taxes?

Not sure if this is going to work, but.... Let us say that we have
something like a touch screen voting system. Let us then say that we get a
printout of our selection. After we cast our vote electronically, we submit
a paper copy of our selection, just like we do now when we complete our
ballot. The paper copy is then sent to some processing center, where every
paper ballot is counted to verify the count. Let us further say that there
is a way to electronically compare what we did when we cast our vote
electronically, to the paper ballot vote. Doesn't that solve the problem?

I we're going to have all those paper ballots counted, let's do
it the simple way and go back to paper ballots.

I heard it suggested that people in places with suspect voting conditions
should vote by absentee ballot, weeks before Nov. 2. You get a paper ballot
and you can resolve any issues with voter registration, police hassles, and
being labeled a convict and disqualified.

Postal ballots are as flawed as any other voting system.
All it needs is someone to check who has moved/died, pick up those ballot
forms and vote with them, or just a corrupt postie. Most Americans would not
bother to vote anyway so would not know if they had "voted" or not.

In voting systems were the Diebold touch screen systems are not
trusted, or cases of unjust
disqualification or police hassles outside the polling place, then an
absentee ballot is justified.

More votes were stolen in FL during the 2000 election, then were
stolen during 200+ years
of postal service.

One has to be registered to vote, those that don't vote are then at
fault.

As you have a two party monopoly, your total democratic system is at fault.
You have to be very rich to stand, or have rich backers, which makes you
vulnerable to special interest groups and the backer who bankrolls you.
No wonder people don't register to vote in such a corrupt system.

Yeah, it's a terrible system and resultantly America is the only super-power
and has become the most successful nation the world has ever witnessed while
it remains the most powerful economic entity on the planet. Too bad other
countries can't fail as successfully. KM
