Default "Civil War" in South Africa?????

....but according to the US MSM Democracy came ...*IMMEDIATELY*..to
South Africa when apartheid was eliminated. Unlike Iraq, we need a few
more years, a little more "patience" for real Democracy to take roots
in South Africa only because that guy Bush wasn't President when the
possibility of Democracy was introduced to all South African
people...... Therein lies the difference

South Africa's president faces crime problem
Amid public outrage, Mbeki acknowledges the government must act.

By Robyn Dixon, Times Staff Writer
February 10, 2007

"..Although police statistics have shown a slight improvement in some
crime categories, including murder, the rates are still among the
world's highest. There were 18,528 murders, (50+ per day), 54,926
rapes and 119,726 violent crimes such as aggravated robbery or
attempted murder last year in a country of 44 million, police said.

Despite the drop, there is a growing public perception that robberies
have become more violent. Fears have been fueled by the killings of
several prominent figures and a sharp rise in high-profile crimes,
such as robberies of armored cars in which highly organized attackers
are often armed with automatic weapons..."

It's because secular humanism has taken over. Shows what a success that is.
Not.

Danny Fernandez says he has a problem with authority figures -- and
that's why he bashed a police officer in the head with an aluminum
baseball bat, then stole his gun and handcuffs, he said in prison
Wednesday.

The Flushing, New York man, 21, who didn't have a criminal record
before he attacked rookie Police Officer Joseph Cho, 32, said, "I was
just doing what everybody wishes they could do, but is too scared to."

Fernandez, charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, was
arrested early Monday by a pair of rookie police officers, one of whom
witnessed the attack, prosecutors said. Cho is in stable condition at
Elmhurst Hospital Center with a fractured skull and concussion.

Wearing a gray prison smock and tan plastic sandals, and with unkempt
hair, Fernandez recalled how he wandered the frigid sidewalks of
Corona with the aluminum bat stuffed inside his jacket, looking for a
police officer.

Only once, when Cho was 10 feet away from him, did Fernandez
reconsider his plan, he said. "I clammed up," he said. "I thought,
'This is crazy. Most people won't do this.' But I went and did it
anyway."

While Fernandez stopped short of providing details of the attack,
prosecutors said he repeatedly struck Cho in the head with the bat
before fleeing with the police officer's 9mm. service handgun.

His mother, who answered the phone at her Flushing home, but didn't
give her name, said her son is not a criminal. "He made a mistake.
Everyone makes mistakes," the mother said. "He is a good little boy.
He had a big depression."
