No Windows on Row 6 of UAL 737-500
I was on a UAL 737-500 (United Shuttle) last week. I was in extended coach
(nice) but for row 6 there were no windows on either side of the aircraft. Anybody got any ideas why this is so? (It made the 90 min flight seem like 3 hours) |

No, but it's good to check seats at www.seatguru.com --they give this seat a "yellow" as a caution. I would give a window seat with no window a *^%#& instead of a yellow. What's the point of a window seat if you can't stare at clouds? |

True-but when you're 6 feet 3 inches tall like me the leg room is more important-I took that seat over a regular coach seat with a window. I may get off bored but my knees won't be sore (g) |

(It made the 90 min flight seem like 3 hours) As other posts have said, air conditioning ducts, electrical cables, etc. go from underfloor into the ceiling in that location. In another piece of Boeing engineering wisdom, the missing windows are in line with the engine compressor blades. In case of an uncontained engine failure, there is less chance of popping a window.
