Mazatlan Travel

I'm considering taking a vacation to Mazatlan sometime during the
summer of 2005. Are there any problems I should be aware of?

Only that it's a fairly large, mostly ugly city with below average beaches.
Being Mexico, the people are probably pretty nice.
There's a lot of sport fishing out of there, and if that's your thing, it
might be a good destination. Sure wouldn't be my first pick for the west
coast of Mexico. Did anyone recommend this as a place to visit, or is
someone trying to sellyou a timeshare?

A summer trip to Mazatlan is going to be one very hot and humid vacation. A
better time to visit Mazatlan might be in January. If you have to travel in
the summer, and want to go to Mexico, it might be a lot more comfortable to
go up into the highlands where the weather is more comfortable.I'd suggest
San Cristobal de las casas, in Chiapas, or even Oaxaca.
