Default Question about Belize

Does the Navigator of the Seas stay on Miami time when it get to
Belize or is the ship on local Belize time. The independent tour
operator says the ship is on Miami time and Royal Caribbean says the
ship tellls passengers to change their clocks to local Belize time.
I need to know accurate information to see if I have enough time for a
long tour.

I don't know about NOTS. IME it depends on where you have been and
sometimes it isn't logical. Sometimes the ship time will switch to
central time and then switch back and still go to another central time
port, and sometimes they switch for every port.

If the ship is on Miami time, you will just be an hour earlier
arriving and an hour earlier leaving. You will have the same amount
of time in port. So if I were doing it, I'd tell the tour operator
that we were on Belize time so he should meet the ship an hour earlier
than if it were Miami time. I'd also get a phone number or email
address for him so I could notify him of any changes.

In my experience the ship is always on local port time, if only to
avoid confusion about departure time. Exceptions are transoceanic
cruises where ship time may switch 2 hours at once.

FWIW we just got off the Independent OTS and we did not change times at
all. I think this is the first time in 11 cruises that has happened.

This is another case where "know it all peter" doesn't know it. A ship
not changing to local port time does happen and on other than the
exception he stated

it's no wonder you feel inferior.

Charles, try to read the above. It says "in my experience". What do you
think that means?

Sjeesh. No wonder your wife left you.

Your experience is not all experience. I have been on several cruises
where the ship was not on local time. I have had that situation at
Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and once on a one day call on Bermuda.

Would you want to be on a ship with someone like this?

That's why I avoid caribbean cruises.
Too many lower class jerks.

Your comments are just as mature as the 7th and 8th graders I see
everyday......maybe less. Why do you keep posting comments about how Charles
looks? He looks just fine, and you have no idea why a marriage ends unless
you are in the middle of it. Time to grow up, but I have a feeling that is a
lost cause. You are just making yourself look really small-minded and silly.

The OP is trying to figure out if there is enough time for a long tour.
Telling the tour operator that the ship is on Belize time and to meet
the ship an hour earlier than if it were on Miami time is not the
answer. Besides it is likely the local tour operators know what time
the ships arrive in Belize. The local operator can't tell from that if
the ship is using Belize time or Miami time.

As far as whether the ship changes to local time or not that depends on
the Captain. And while it might not seem logical to us I think there is
logic behind it.

I would say if the whether the ship is on Belize or Miami time makes a
difference as to whether there is enough time the OP should not book
the tour.
