Default Fifteen Ships Coming to SF Because of Flu?

This morning, the local news reported that 15 ships are due to arrive
in the next three weeks due to whatever-we-call-it-now-flu rerouting.
They shot outside the Mariner (?) OTS, which had evidently done a
service call in Cabo without letting pax ashore to meet PSA reqs.

- I suspect that the number reported includes normally scheduled
repositioning calls (5-6?)
- I wonder if all ships will still do a service call in MX
(Ensenada?) or if the government will waive the PSA.

The Mariner of the Seas will have no reason to go to Cabo. She will
visit Victoria B.C. thereby meeting PSA requirements.

BTW... The Mariner is Super cheap for the next month. Sounds like a
better trip than Mexico.

Can she make it from LA to Victoria round trip in a week (with port
calls?) It seems that it would take at least 3 days in each direction?
(especially northbound against the current)

05-May Cruising

06-May Victoria, British Columbia 12:00 PM 10:00 PM Docked

07-May Seattle, Washington 7:00 AM 5:00 PM Docked

those who aren't looking for warm, beachy trips)

That's the same itinerary as Carnival Splendor for next week. Week after it
changes to Victoria and Vancouver BC.

If we had the time, I would love this itin. It would give me a tiny bit
of time in San Francisco and Victoria which I have never seen. It would
also give me more time in Seattle, a city that I love.

I DO feel sorry for the current passengers, weather-wise. Not only are
they not in sunny Mexico, today (and this weekend) it's unseasonably
cold and rainy.

I agree, even if the weather was good this is not what they booked. The
only good thing is they won't be exposed to Swine Flu in Mexico.

From the Subject: San Francisco for a few hours

Many ships, fearing to visit Mexican ports, are coming here.
