Snapped while returning from a holiday in Europe.

The Thai 744 turned into a gate and the ??? (help) 763 turned onto another apron (after
settling their differences).

Very amusing from a tourist's point of view. Photo taken 9th April.

You were lucky to see them as they only started ops in
March from Milan to BKK using 2 x leased 767 300 ER.s config'd to 274 seats
..
Privately owned by some well known Italian types aircraft serviced by LTU .

Hope they succeed

The Thai 744 has just pushed back from the apron...note the tug departing
stage left.
The ground crew are still at the nose-wheel.
The 767 probably turned left into the apron, or turned right onto the
parallel taxiway to
go around the 744.
The zoom on the camera can be illusive at times!

I got into a real nose-to-nose with no escape path possible at ORD a
few years ago. Apparently O'Hare has two ground control regions
connected by a bridge. The two controllers tried to send our plane and
another plane over the bridge simultaneously in opposite directions.
It took about 15 minutes to sort out, as one plane had to be pushed
backwards out of the way. Good thing it was a clear day.

There was an conjecture put forward that it was an ATC error, I merely
conjectured further that it could have been a pilot mistake.

Aren't we being a bit touchy? Both ATCs and pilots are equally capable
of mistakes.

Stephen
