Default Israel in 10 days

I will be visiting Israel for 10 days.

I too am thinking of spending +/-10 days in Israel, perhaps next year,
travelling round by bus.
http://www.egged.co.il/eng/ seems to cover most of the country.

There don't seem to be many hotels bookable online - the ones that are have
crazy prices.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

well. I am booked for dec. 17..
I wrote to the Tourism Office. and they promised to send me brochures and
maps. let us see.
I saw a lot of hotel booking companies in Internet. For me up to 150 dollars
for 4 stars is ok.

So you will be spending Christmas in Bethlehem?
For that you only need to follow one star!

Israel in not that big a country.
I would think that day trips to most of the "sights" are easily achievable
from either Jerusalem or (possibly better) Tel Aviv.
Maybe 5 nights in each?
If you find any nice hotels, let me know.

Meanwhile I wrote to the Bus company you suggested and they answered at once
with an offer of Tours.
as to Hotels. I will finalzie my bookings as soon as I know where I will
spend my 10 days.
My budget is about 100 to 150 dollars per night
two persons including breakfast

Last time I was in Jerusalem I stayed at the Ron hotel on Zion Square.
It was very cheap, but it was "down the hall" bathrooms. Not sure if
it's still in business. It was very centrally located and had a big
"Coca-Cola" sign in hebrew on the roof, so it was easy to find.
