Only 4 more days till we depart on the Mariner of the Seas to the western
caribbean. We'll be making stops at CocoCay, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and
Cozumel. My wife and son have informed me that they'd like to purchase new
watches on this trip. I'm curious to know which island will offer the best
deals??

TIA,
Sandy K.

Cozumel. They have an abundance of jewelry stores and the folks will
"wheel and deal" with you. Although someone told me Ochos Rios was
pretty good price wise. I didn't care for the area that much and
wasn't looking for jewelry.

Sandy, a couple of Western Caribbean cruises ago, we were told by one of those
port and shopping guides that Ocho Rios was the best stop on the itinerary for
watches. Not sure whether or not to trust the info (considering the source), we
did extensive checking and price comparisons. Turned out she was right, and we
scored a great deal on a Raymond Weil (not the highest end, but just what I was
looking for).

You should know your prices before you go, and be prepared to bargain hard.

Why not GC? Did you ever try to wheel and deal with them?

I got a 3 ATM digital watch to use when I snorkel. I bought it aboard ms
Veendam (HAL) in the shopping arcade. Cost $10.00. Sometimes the best
shopping deals are right on the ship.
