Default Sun Country Airlines??

Hi all

just wondering what others think of Sun Country Airlines good or bad.
i am asking this, as I have the change to go on a casino trip with a
friend to Laughlin for little or nothing. The cost for airfare and
hotel are cheaper than just airfare to Las Vegas, so I was thinking of
renting a car in Laughlin and then driving up to Las Vegas for part of
the trip.

Thanks
Michael

They are OK and will get you there and back, but I seem to recall minute
leg-room.
I used to like Casino Express into Elko better but that's too far to drive
to LV (or even Reno really).
The facilities at Laughlin are awful for checking in or renting cars (tiny
space and hundreds of people). But it can be done. When I was there Hertz
was over-subscribed so I just walked up to Avis and got a similar deal. The
drive up to Las Vegas is 90 minutes or so but scenic (if you appreciate
desert and mountain vistas).
The Laughlin casinos are OK and have their own style, but it's surely not
LV. Not terrible either though although craps in short supply.

I forgot to mention.

You have to remember the airport at Laughlin (located on the east bank of
the Colorado River in Bullhead City Arizona) is on Mountain time, not
Pacific. So an 8:30am car reservation at Laughlin/Bullhead City airport is
8:30 mountain time. 7:30 Pacific.
I got caught out by this waiting in my hotel room for the car rental counter
to open at [whenever] when in fact they were already open for 1 hour when I
showed up.

I suppose this also adds confusion to flights/check-in etc. so best to be
sure which time zone is being used.

Sun Country is okay for a LCC. They fly new 737-800's (all leather seats).
Inflight service is no different from any other low cost carrier.

(Sun Country was originally started in 1983 as a charter airline by a bunch
of displaced Braniff International pilots at that carrier's MSP crew base).
They have been through bankruptcy and currently are privately owned.

Adding to the confusion: Except during daylight time season, when
California and Arizona are on the same time.

I could fly to Wendover for around $129, but like you say I can't get
to and from Las Vegas in a short amount of time. The drive from
Laughlin would make it easy to do some shopping or see an afternoon
show.

Thanks
Michael

Thanks everyone for the replies. Looks like my friend wants his own
room, so the cost goes up by $50 which is still pretty good.

Thanks again
Michael
