There is a vote of confidence in Parliament. If the ruling party loses the
vote the leader approaches the Crown to dissolve Parliament and call a new
election.

sitting administration", is it? Which was the point I was trying

How very astute of you. That was exactly the point I made to George Graves
when he commented that the British people can vote "no confidence" to a
sitting administration and I pointed out that vote it taken by Parliament,
not by the people.

Try done at all! Since re-election, Bush has done NOTHING except defend his
actions in Iraq. He hasn't initiated ONE piece of legislation, either foreign
or domestic. Just because the guy is "Commander-in-Chief" of the armed forces

in that role, he's done nothing for more than two years and not a hell of a

Remember how he had done absolutely nothing until 911. It started out
as the "do nothing" presidency then bin Laden give Georgie a gift.
Well, actually his handlers took the "gift" and ran with it. George was
still sitting around like a deer caught in the headlights als that

Clinton didn't pardon/commute anyone who was going after him, did he?
There is a difference. But do I remember at least one of Clinton's was a
flat out crook, right?
And should of never got pardoned.




My comment was nonspecific. Both Clinton a Reagan pardoened people for
political/personal reasons who shouldn't have been pardoned.


This Scooter deal is so transparent. Cheney calls the shots on
everything, and especially on this one.

Sage words, and worth remembering. Bush is the worst president in US
history,
yet go he should until he breaks the law, and we cannot circumvent the law
just to rid ourselves of a terrible leader. If we do, we'll have more

Also, we need to be careful that we don't elect a worse one simply because
the candidate isn't George Bush. I'm very afraid that we might just do

There could be some time in the
future where angering 70% of the population is the right thing to do.
If you had to please the majority of people, then we wouldn't even
elect presidents. We would just vote on issues and the majority vote
would decide what to do.

It would be unfair to the 30% of Americans who like Bush to impeach
him unless he has done something illegal. He won the vote, so he is
the president. Besides, he doesn't have any power to do anything that
70% of Congress disagrees with. If his actions are so bad, they can
be democratically overridden by others.

You can't just do away with the rules of democracy because they are
