Bars in Geneva, Switzerland
Can anyone recommend good bars / pubs or Belgian beer cafes in Geneva
Switzerland? I'm traveling there on business for a week beginning August 28th. Thanks, Dave |

Thanks, Dave A "good bar" is hard to find in Geneva. Go to the Carouge section. My favorite is the Cafe des Amis, mostly because it has live music, jazz and whatever, on Friday but not during the summer. The beer is cheap and it has a mature and crazy crowd. There is one place in Geneva proper, up on the hill in Vielle Ville at Place du Bourg-du-Four I believe. After work and well into the evening it has a good crowd at the outdoor tables. It's also nice on a warm Sunday morning. Be careful of getting the right change in the other bars in Carouge. Announce the bill you are giving the bartender, e.g. "Here's 20 Franks," or you are likely to get shortchanged.
