This information does not appear to be available on the SNCF's Web site for "Ile de France" services (which gives RER timetables etc, in English at: http://idf.sncf.fr/GB/default.htm . But you can easily get a detailed plan of the area around the RER stations at eg. Versailles by means of the www.viamichelin.com site (in three steps: first enter the station name and town name to get a small-scale map, then zoom in to get one with street names, finally put your cursor onto the word "Parking" to the left of the map and click on the pop-up "P" symbol, which should result in the location of the car parks being displayed on the street plan. Hotels, garages etc. can be located in a similar way. In the case of Versailles, none of the four car parks is very close to either RER station. But of course the situation may be different elsewhere. Regards, - Alan (in Brussels) |

Further to my previous message: ...
in response to: " Do the RER stations surrounding Paris (specifically the ones near Versailles) have parking for private automobiles? I now see that according to http://www.stp-paris.fr/voyager/psr/V/main.htm there is a "parking de la gare" or "parc relais" at numerous stations in the Paris suburbs; only one is given for Versailles - the "Parking relais" at Versailles Chantiers, near the*third* station at Versailles. Although the hyperlinks at the top of that page don't work, an interactive plan showing station car parks at places beginning with other letters - and a collection of other sites of interest to travellers in the Paris area - is hyperlinked from : http://www.stp-paris.fr/voyager/transit/f-set.htm Regards, - Alan (in Brussels) |
