Well, the only *first world* place on earth....you can easily live like a
king for under CAD30 a day in many places....

We all know you are secretly working for the Aust tourist Board - but you
can still get a good exchange rate in NZ - and we speak a bit more like
Canadians too. ;-)

Two or three years ago - I dropped a friend off there who was
returning because he had been there before.

Or was it *really* cheap and dingy?? You don't tell us how the accomodations
were.

Did not get to check it closely but seemed a bit like what YMCA's
used to be - medium sized cabins with communal bathroom. I do remember
a communal lounge with tourist information and phones - and the bloke
on the desk seemed decent and friendly.
