Default TSA Quart Size ZipLock "rules"

on a recent flight
had a few personal items in my carry on.
Shampoo soap toothpaste etc.
All fit in a quart size ziplock .
all were in 3 oz or less containers.
all but one....a specialty liquid body soap was in a 4oz tube
On the way out it had 3oz of soap and was allowed thru TSA screening.
On the way back, the container had at most 1/2 oz of soap.
It was flagged at TSA screening, they said, this is not allowed because
its a 4oz tube, our rules are 3oz or less.
I said its virtually empty (1/2 oz.) TSA said its not a question of
amount its the CONTAINER (tube) was too big.
This liquid ban and subsequent "relaxation" of rules is such a joke.
My rant of the week!@!@!

They were much happier when they were fulfilling their destinies, pushing
mops around.

In spite of the snotty implication still
a needed function.

Why?

Are we safer?

I think he was referring to the need to mop floors, not the need to
control toothpaste tubes.

Exactly. American airport restrooms (toilets) tend to be
very clean, as are most of the terminal areas.
Some very well educated and skilled people do this
work whilst waiting for their credentials to be
verfied and accepted by prospective employers.
