the datai and the andaman are two of the few most envied resorts in the
world. its very pricey for local standard, but after currency
conversion, i'd say its pretty standard price compared to belgian
4/5star hotels. its very worth the stay. and also, get an international
driving permit so u can rent a van. quite affordable.cause taxis are
cut throat.good restaurant i would say eden floating restaurant. but
dinner at The Datai is most incredible experience. the main town is
Kuah. the best resort to stay in the town is i think sheraton.

so basically things to do are fishing, snorkeling, diving, sun-tan and
shopping. its not as vibrant or lively like bangkok/phuket i think. the
mini islands surrounding langkawi are awesome.

most ppl don't give tips or very little tips in restaurants.
