GGC_2007 polls
It's fascinating to watch the votes come in and the tightness of the
races. Two more days and we will know what the TA's who wish to bid will have to work with. If you haven't expressed your preferences in this round of voting, then get in there and do it now. This putting together of a GGC is for anyone and everyone here, not just a small group who "belong" If you enjoy cruising and would like to be a part of it, then you're welcome! VOTE!!!! It ends tonight!!! I don't know what I was thinking, probably that it
would end on Friday night. I hope the TA's are taking notes, checking rates and itineraries, and making plans to bid. That's when the REAL fun begins! Bill would like to cast his vote for Princess, Southern Carib, end of January, more than 7 days, but alas, he has no separate email address. Ermalee |

Looks liike the only thing close right now is the cruise line. I just
hope everyone is aware that many of the working people will not be going on this GGC because of it's length. I can do a longer cruise but voted for a 7 day just so that we can include the people who need to take a vacation. Mike--Just trying to be inclusive, even it it means a longer flight |

Mike--Just trying to be inclusive, even it it means a longer flight Even without having a firm outcome, I sure commend Gary and the others for handling the voting so well. We were really hoping for a west coast GGC, since we're fairly burned out on Florida and the Caribbean. The Nonnymus family try to get together yearly for some kind of cruise. With several of the family having demands of work, school, prison, probation, shock treatments or other engagements, a longer cruise is probably out of the question at that time of year. Last year, we solved that problem by taking a family cruise out of Galveston over Christmas, but that obviously would have little appeal for a GGC. Another Christmas cruise isn't in the cards for 2006, since other family members have obligations this year, having missed Christmas with their families last year. I certainly understand why the folks who live in FL or up the East Coast would want another Florida cruise, since it cuts down on flight time and airfares. When we were east coasters, we drove to a few ourselves. In our case, some family members would be flying in from the Western part of the US or Texas, and it will probably be easier for us to try something off the West coast over that time period or even earlier, should we try for everybody to go again. All I know is that we can't get the entire Nonnymus gang together for the one that is probably going to be the winner. What that leaves is the decision whether Mrs. Nonnymus and I want to take a couple cruises, off different coasts, fairly close together. Hopefully, after the Committee accepts a bid, some thought might be given to an Orlando pre cruise or post cruise package. That would be a good incentive to make that shudder long, boring and expensive flight to FL again. Nonnymus |

I look forward to cruising with you and your family again someday. If
the GGC is not on the west coast, maybe there will be a group there somtime next year. Mike |

Not a bad idea, Mike. We see all kinds of group cruises forming around
us, so why not? But first let's see what develops here. Personally, I'd love a Mexican Riviera cruise! (And yes, that's the way I voted.) As I said either here or on the yahoo groups, some 10 day cruises on require 7 vacation days. This makes it easier for those with limited vacation time, such as Kevin.lol I know he would not be able to take 10 vacation days, but 7 is probably doable for us. sue |
