Default internet access while on cruise

This may be a stupid question, but I've never been on a cruise, so I really
don't know. Are there phone lines in the rooms on a ship for internet
access? Or is there a "business office" on some of the ships that have a
few computers set up for internet access? I was debating taking my laptop,
but I'd like to get this figured out first.

Thanks!
Aaron

It differs by lines. Some have lines in the room, some don't. Almost all have
an internet cafe of some sort, which are usually somwhat expensive.

On Norwegian 75cents a minute, although you can buy bundles of minutes.

On NCL they have wireless internet which you can use with your own laptop.
It does NOT work in the staterooms, though.

I've also used Internet Cafe on RCCL.

YMMV. You can find out from teh cruise line web sites or ask your travel
agent what the differnt lines offer.

Aaron, there is no in-cabin access on the Mercury. There is an Internet
Cafe area on board. The rates are about fifty cents a minute. Your
best bet is probably in port.
