RER and bus tariffs in Paris and around

I'd like to know the best fare arrengement for the following trip. We
have our meeting in an institution south of Paris, and our hotel in
Paris. It might be possible we also move around for eating in the
evening.

Day 1 : RER B from Aeroport Charles de Gaull to Le Guichet, then
bus TIPS 269.02, then back by same bus plus RER to Paris
Denfert

Day 2 : RER Paris Denfert to Le Guichet plus bus 269 and back

Day 3 : RER Paris Denfert to Le Guichet plus bus 269, then back
by same bus and RER from Le Guichet to the airport

In particular would a "mobilis" ticket or a "Paris visite" ticket be
convenient ? I gather that the "mobilis" is valid just one day, but I
cannot understand whether it allows to use RER from/to CDG.

Also is the 1-5 zones enough to cover the above trips ?

I understand that the "Paris visite" can be valid for 3 days. To me it
looks marginally convenient, but I cannot find the exact fare for the
through ride from CDG tp Le Guichet (the SNCF web site says "apply at
the station" !

I've computed the following :

CDG to Paris centre 7.75 eur
Paris centre to Le Guichet 3.20 eur
Bus 269 1.30 eur
Mobilis 1-5 zone 12.00 eur
Paris Visite 3 d 1-5 zone 37.35 eur

Given that the difference in costs is less than you'll lose in change
down the back of your sofa, why not just get the easiest, which is the
3-day pass?

When people visit us I always recommend them to get a pass - either
Paris Visite or Carte Orange. They may lose a couple of Euros in the
worst case, but the saving in time and hassle is worth the extra
price.

You cannot use the Mobilis pass to or from the airports. The Paris
Visite or the Carte Orange can be used on the RER to and from Roissy
CDG, as long as you purchase one that covers zones 1 to 5. These passes
are very convenient, since you can ride almost any bus, train, or metro
within these zones an unlimited number of times. You will probably like
to use the RER or Metro to go to dinner, or sightsee while you are in
Paris.

Yes. Roissy CDG and Le Guichet are both in zone 5, and you need to have
zone 1 to travel through the centre of Paris. The TIPS 269 bus operates
in zones 4 and 5, I believe.

A lower cost alternative is the "Carte Orange", which costs 28.90 euros
for zones 1-5 for seven days. The Paris Visite is more expensive since
it includes some discounts to museums, which you probably won't be
using.

The Cartes Orange are only valid beginning on Monday, and ending on
Sunday, and can only be purchased up to Wednesday of the week they are
valid. If you arrive on a Sunday, and leave on a Tuesday, then the
Paris Visite would be the better choice, since you would need two Cartes
Orange. (I hope that isn't too confusing.)
Note that you need a small photograph of yourself for the Carte Orange.
(about 20mm X 20mm, either black and white or color) If you can bring
one with you, that would be the easiest. Even a digital picture printed
on your computer's printer would be acceptable. You can also purchase
them in the automatic machines in many stations for 4 euros. (I can't
remember if there is a machine at CDG) (Select the option for 16 photos
on one sheet to get the proper size.)

Purchase the Carte Orange from the RER ticket booth at the airport, and
not the automatic machine, since you need to get two parts: the ticket,
and an identity card. You need to attach your photo to the identity
card, and copy the number from the identity card onto the ticket before
the pass can be used.

You do not need a photo for the Paris Visite.

You can also purchase a Carnet of 10 tickets for 10 euros for the bus,
which you can share with your colleagues.
