Aargh!!

Do they have proper roads

Usually, yes. However, in August, all proper roads are under
construction. Go ask those poor drivers, who now need twice as much
time to get to work. :-(

and can you find supermarkets ?

Yes, they are all conveniently located along former (and future) proper
roads, that have now been closed for maintenance.

- especially in Germany - http://alturl.com/sgojy - nearly 2000 km of
roadworks on the autobahn network this summer.
However, a 20 km traffic jam in the blazing sunshine we have right now
is a great opportunity to get out of the car, walk round, chat to other
drivers, discuss which bush is the best one to go behind for a pee, and
lots of hysterical laughter when the jam moves forward 100 metres and
the girls come scuttling out of the bushes pulling their knickers up.

and can you find supermarkets ?

"Proper roads"... what would they be?

Supermarkets can be found, (I'm told Luxembourg have the cheapest) but ordinarily, not directly along a highway unless you define motorway services as supermarkets. Perhaps you could define "supermarket" too.

As for "to travel reliably" I'm unacquainted with that particular form of English usage... perhaps you can advise.

Maybe you will bump into each other.

Dare one hope they do so literally?

I suggest that might be what "adventure" might mean.

I've heard of "to travel responsibly", "to travel securely", to travel lightly" and so on,... they all sound normal, but somehow, the phrase; "travel reliably" just sounds... well... odd (to me)
