Cheap European airfare (short notice) ?
wrote in message ... In article , (steve) wrote: I'm looking for a low cost way to travel from a few cities in Europe. Best case would be to buy the ticket(s) the day before I fly to my next stop. FWIW I managed to get a Ryan flight from Berlin to London yesterday for 90 euro (inc. taxes) at 22 hours' notice, so it is possible despite the accepted wisdom that prices go up dramatically as flight time approaches. However, I wouldn't rely on it. The 90 Euros total is not bad - maybe 2x or 3x the cheapest fare otherwise (actually I have a July 23 EasyJet fare Berlin - London booked for 6.99 Euros plus taxes and fees - I think it totalled somewhere around 25 Euros). You can see if you look that many Ryanair and EasyJet (and other carrier) fares are fairly cheap even up to a day before departure. The more popular the route and the season, though, the less likely that is. I wouldn't count on the above scenario working at the last minute on a holiday weekend, for example. Traveler |
