help with Alaska stops
You may wish to visit my website http://www.AlaskaCrisingReport.com.
Actually, you have other roundtrip options from Seattle beside NCL and Celebrity - including Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, and Royal Caribbean International. |

I saw that RCI didn't go to Glacier Bay but didn't know why. Hi Bill, Neither Celebrity or Royal Caribbean are allowed Glacier Bay permits. This was one of the penalties for pollution violations. Interesting that Alaska has younger cruises. I would have thought just the opposite. Although many young folks, such as myself, vbg love to sail to Alaska, the average demographic is the older than most other cruise destinations. I only can cruise in the summer and usually go to Bermuda or the Caribbean so I'm used to a younger crowd. While I have nothing against older people as I'm very close to being one myself, the fact that I'm on a ship with younger people means there will be more to do and venues will be open later. Working nights for the last 20 years it's hard to change your body clock when on vacation for a week. Didn't RCI give themselves some kind of environmental award since the polluting incidents? It is part of their encouragement to get everyone in the company to be aware of their environmental concerns. help with Alaska stops
Holland America has several ships that go RT from Seattle that go to
Glacier Bay I believe. At least one certainly. Hubbard would be my #2 choice. Actually Hubbard glacier is the best single glacier I've seen bar none. Jeff Bill C wrote: Since I have very little knowledge of Alaska I thought some of you that have sailed Alaska could give me a comparison of a few stops in Alaska. I only want to sail roundtrip from Seattle and I wanted to do Glacier Bay. My only choices look like NCL and Celebrity. I had set my mind made up to go on NCL Star but after reading numerous reviews about the food I am having second thoughts. I really don't like that you have to pay for your meals if you want good food. Also not a big fan of Celebrity. So if you couldn't go to Glacier Bay what would be your second choice, Tracy Arm or Hubbard Glacier. Bill |
