Default European River Cruises

I'm planning a European river cruise from Amsterdam to Vienna. There
are several companies that offer this itinery such as Viking, Grand
Circle, etc.

Which travel company would you recommend?

I traveled with Grand Circle last year on their Great Rivers of Europe
riverboat cruise starting in Amsterdam and ending in Vienna. It was the
best trip I've ever taken. Grand Circle handles everything

Grand circle does not own any ships but charters from other companies. The
grand circle ship you are on may very well be a Viking ship. However, Grand
Circle would have its own manager onboard
to be sure that Grand Circle standards were met! both are excellent
companies.

Bill:

I cruised from Amsterdam to Vienna on the Viking Spirit about two years
ago and heartily enjoyed it and so should you.

I've done Uniworld twice and would get back on without any problems at all.
I'm not sure that there is much difference between most of the ships that
are there for the American tourists, when they are side by side they all
look pretty much the same.

My wife want's to try one,but i hear they have very limited food
choices! Mostly fish! I don't like seafood at all! I also hear they
don't have stage shows, a casino , swimming pools ,hot tubs etc. & they
are way over priced to boot .

Funny, to people who enjoy river cruises, no stage shows, no casino, no hot
tubs, all that would be an asset. Certainly is to me.

The food was never limited, it was never mostly seafood, and I don't for a
minute believe that they were overpriced.

Get this, they have TV's, but don't get any channels for most of the cruise.
You better not go.

I've only taken one river cruise (1998) and still talk about it. A wonderful
experience w/o all the glitzy amenities. That riverboat took us into places a
large ship could never do. I'm sure there's at least one more river cruise in
our future.
