Recommendations for snorkeling in the Florida Keys?
I'm going to the Florida Keys in mid-November and was wondering if anyone
can share their favorite snorkeling spots. Also, if anyone has any recommendations on who to go through, that'd be appreciated. If you decide to send a reply back to me, be sure to delete "REMOVE" from my address. Thanks! |

Ft Jefferson and the Dry Tortugas off Key West. It's well worth the cost of the high speed cat that takes you there. Plan on a whole day trip. Aside from snorkeling, there's the fort which is open for touring. The beach is great as well. -- ________ To email me, Edit "xt" from my email address. Brian M. It's a great trip and the Fort tour is informational, but the reef from Garden Key, where the boat docks, is essentially dead. Too many people, too little space. You'll do better, coral-wise, at Pennekamp or with a dive trip from the lower Keys to Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary. http://www.sanctuaries.nos.noaa.gov/...msflorida.html Chris |

Pennekamp Park just north of Key Largo has nice shore snorkeling. Crack d Conch restaurant just down the road is good. Also Key Largo, take the Keys Diver boat to the coral reef and the underwater Christ statue. They have a webpage. Get Wet in Key West has snorkel boats. They have a web page. |
