Actually, you can bring it with you.. You just ca't consume it unless
it is served by the flight crew

Actually you can as long as a flight attendant serves it to you.

This is news to me, although I don't travel much to/from/within the US right
now. Which airlines are imposing this rule?

I fondly remember extracting 5 G&Ts from BA between LHR and BCN one
afternoon.

I remember extracting 5 beers and and a very large whisky from TAP staff on
a 2 hour flight from LHR-OPO.


A few years ago, I flew AA CDG-JFk in the back. Asked for red wine and
the gave me 2 1/4 or 200 ml bottles of bourdeaux. Was a very quiet pax
for a few hours after that.
