Flights to Europe when to book?

My Wife and I are considering going to europe in april. We were
wondering when is the most cost-effective time to book flights in
advance.

From where and to which part of Europe ?

Be aware that the Easter weekend falls on the
9-12 April and is one of the busiest times of the
year with consequent affects on hotel and flight
costs.

Personally I'd be looking to book pretty soon, the
consolidator prices should be available within the
next month if not already available and prices
are likely to increase in the new year.

Sorry about that - from Chicago and a couple of possible places we
will be staying in france but we have a friend in frankfurt so we may
fly in and out of there and spend some time there and then fly via
ryan air to paris or (our other trip possibility) rome.

JUst after Christmas would be a good time to start
looking. Try the different airline websites, their prices
beat some of those like Expedia and Orbitz these days.
If you see a good price grab it, lock it in then and there.

Honestly, i would start looking right now. I don't know if you know
this or not--but Orbitz has this new International Matrix page that
offers soo many options when choosing who you want to fly with. I
believe the fares are a lot better to. You might want to check it
out, b/c i know a lot of the other sites have limited options. Also,
you can sign up for this thing called Deal Detector. Basically you put
in where you want to travel, and ORbitz will email you the best fares
whenever they come up. Therefore, even if you don't want to start
looking right now, you'll know when there's a good fare b/c Orbitz
will email you. That could save you some time! Good luck!
