Default London - Parliament in session?

We'll be in London from Dec. 23-30. Will Parliament be in session then, and
will it be possible to get into the gallery and see them in action?

Christmas recess is 19 Dec. - 7 Jan., so you are out of luck. But
apparently you can still visit:

I've wanted to see Parliament in action myself. Touring the building and
watching debate are two different things, probably to be done at two
different times. It appears that the House may not be in session during
your visit. The 2002 Christmas Recess seemed to be 19 December 2002 through
7 January 2003. (Dates for December 2003 are not given on this official
website, but it might be a bit much to expect Members to stay in town over
Christmas week.) For visits to the gallery of the House of Commons check
out:

Summer tours of the building are outlined at:
http://www.parliament.uk/visiting/summer_opening.cfm

You might also consult the first part of the following from Frommers (July
28, '03). Seeing Parliament in action (or Buckingham Palace), especially
for non-Brits, takes some preparation.
