Default Help! No passport stamp in Italy

I'm an American who arrived in Italy in June. I realized last week
that customs did not stamp my passport. I'm quite certain they did not
scan it either. And it's a passport from 2002 without a chip.

I would like to stay in Milan past the 90 days allowed. Here's my
question: How can I get a new stamp from Italian customs? Do I need to
go to Croatia or Switzerland via plane? Or should I just not risk it
at all.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks and a have a great day!
